[1]Study of Quantum Effects in the Conductance of Some Mesoscopic Systems:

Quantum effects in Mesoscopic system are investigated. Two models are considered: (i ) Superconductor-semiconductor superconductor junction is in the form of sandwich type. (ii) the second model is superconducting quantum point contact. The currents for both models are deduced in terms of the probability of both normal reflection and multiple Andreev-reflection. It was found that the electronic junction characteristics are strongly influenced by the microstructure of the barrier itself. The critical current is quantized and increases stepwise as a function of the width of the semiconductor layer and the doping concentration up to certain values of both. So, the electronic properties of such mesoscopic systems depend on both the nature of the superconductor-semiconductor interface and on the coherence length in the semiconductor channel.
